Home Improvement ? Furniture | Furniture Stores Austin TX Secrets ...

When we think of home improvements, visions of saw dust and sheet rock come to mind. We try to avoid these things as long as possible because it requires lots of time and effort. many times large cash outlays are also required. We never think of improvements we can make in our home by simple changes in our living quarters. these improvements are rather easy and most can be done in a weekend. We throw out stale bread, stale pastries and stale coffee but we hang on to stale furniture until it falls apart. We never get around to replacing the look that we loved several years ago. If you are like me, I never know where to start. it seems everything needs changing. We couldn?t do it all at once so we picked a room and jumped right in.

Our living room seemed the right place to start. I really didn?t want to drive all around town looking through furniture stores. most stores had the same tired selections and the styles were pretty similar. We wanted something different. The internet seemed a good place to start looking. I was surprised at the wide selection of furniture I found online. The pictures looked great and the prices were in line with the stores. my question was is the quality of the furniture up to my standards? From experience, I learned long ago to never forsake quality for price. Surprised, I found most web sites offered my money back if I was not happy with the purchase for any reason and the shipping was free. with that, I felt secure and started seriously looking.

The problem with the old furniture, other than being old, was it seemed to crowd the room. We wanted more open space and decided to look at smaller pieces and place them at different angles. a few inches will make a big difference in a room. many fabrics and styles were available in a multitude of colors. The anchor pieces, sofa and loveseat, was our first purchase. We then chose a coordinating accent chair that really made the room look fresh and new. with childhood excitement, we picked the occasional tables and other accessories to finish off the room. We did all this from the comfort of our home and a single web site. No driving around town looking and looking and looking. We saved time and money with comfortable internet shopping.

Our purchase arrived on time and in perfect condition. We were delighted with the style and quality of the furniture. after attaching a few legs we moved the magic inside. that fresh new look had entered our home and wow what a difference. Our home improvement was complete, all we have to do now is sit back with a cool drink and enjoy. We have just what we wanted. a little different ambience that makes this comfortable room truly us. Home improvements inside can be fun and you don?t have to drive a single nail.

Men often fail to act on possible symptoms of prostate cancer because they lack knowledge of the disease, new research suggests.

A survey commissioned by the Prostate Cancer Charity found that just 34 per cent of men over the age of 45 ? who are most at risk of prostate cancer ? knew any of the disease?s risk factors.

The poll also revealed that only 48 per cent of men with concerns about prostate cancer had visited their GP, while 27 per cent of worried men had not sought medical advice because they did not think it was an urgent problem.

Owen Sharp, chief executive of the Prostate Cancer Charity, said: ?It is disturbing to see so many men needlessly risking their health by putting off confronting their concerns about prostate cancer.

?Not all men who are worried about prostate cancer will have the disease. Yet for those for whom this disease will become a reality, a timely chat with their GP may make all the difference.?

Symptoms of prostate cancer include frequency and difficulty in urinating, and in some cases blood in the urine.18371 justcopyright Men show disturbing lack of prostate cancer knowledge

Secret Codes Ready to Take Quantum Leap in Space (SPACE.com)

[unable to retrieve full-text content]SPACE.com - If secret agent James Bond wanted to tell his MI6 superiors about the location of a stolen superweapon without tipping off villains, he might turn to a global satellite network that transmitted coded keys made unbreakable by the weird laws of physics. Such "quantum key distribution" already exists on Earth beyond the realm of Hollywood spy fantasies, and could soon head for space.

HTC One X hits the FCC bound for AT&T

PJ83100
What's thin, pale and sexy as hell? If you answered Twiggy you're close, but wrong. The answer we were looking for is the AT&T version of the HTC One X, which appears to have just swung through the FCC. There's not much to reveal here that we didn't already know. The phone is capable of connecting to AT&T's HSPA+ and GSM networks thanks to the 850MHz and 1900MHz radios, but it'll also be riding along on LTE bands 4 and 17 for some 4G action. The documents also offers radiation levels for the dual-channel 802.11n and Bluetooth radios, as well as provide us with a model number: PJ83100. The final clue to its identity was buried in one of the forms that revealed the phone is running version 4.0.3 of an unidentified firmware -- we'd say it's safe to assume that's in reference to the particular edition of Ice Cream Sandwich on board. If you're a fan of charts, graphs and numbers, hit up the source link.

Eric Schmidt: Google hoping for an Android 'in every pocket'

Android activations now total 850,000 a day, Google chairmen Eric Schmidt said Tuesday at Mobile World Congress.

Google chairmen Eric Schmidt says 2012 will be the year of the Android.?

Speaking at the?Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Schmidt told attendees that Google was now activating?850,000 Android handsets a day ? so fast, Schmidt joked, that?"we?ll need to produce more people soon." Schmidt added that "if?Google gets it right, there will be an Android in every pocket, according to Ingrid Lunden of TechCrunch, who was on hand for the event.?

As recently as December, Google was activating 700,000 Android devices a day, up?from half a million?in June?and 400,000 in May. At some point, of course, the number of activations is going to hit a terminal velocity. So what happens then? Well, Schmidt said, manufacturers will produce cheaper devices, in an attempt to open up whole new markets.?

"Next year's $100 phone is this year's $400 phone," Schmidt said (hat tip to CNET for the quote). "Many people are working on [smartphones] in the $100 to $150 range. When you get to the $70 point you get to a huge new market."

That huge new market would presumably comprise folks in the developing world ? or in the US ? who previously balked at the $200 price tag on most modern smartphones ? a $200 that does not include the price of a two-year data and voice contract. This plays into why Google started Android in the first place. In 2007, the?company?introduced its cellphone operating system has a way to excite Americans ? but also to prepare for the next billion Internet users, people that would not use Google through a computer because they could not afford a computer.?

Android! Everywhere! All the time! That's the idea behind a pair of new Google goggles, allegedly bound for shelves in the US by the end of the year. As we noted last week, Google is said to be prepping a pair of?augmented reality, Android-powered glasses, which would allow users to receive real-time information on their surroundings.?
