The one gift my daughter has been begging for since last Christmas is her very own computer. They do a lot of computer work at school, and she really wants to use the same sites at home. Yet, I don?t feel totally comfortable setting her loose on my work computer ? if it gets broken I will be in big trouble! We did end up purchasing her an older, used computer (we actually got her an iBook clamshell laptop that I have always wanted!) to play her learning games on. She will be online, but she will need help typing in the URLs and such, so I am not that worried about her getting into things she shouldn?t, but we will still be monitoring her closely, and computer time will be an adult approved activity.
